Beato Robert Johnson

Beato Robert Johnson: Mártir inglés; nació en Shropshire; entró al Colegio Alemán, Roma, el 1 de octubre de 1571. Fue ordenado sacerdote en Bruselas, del Colegio Inglés, Douai, en abril de 1576 y salió inmediatamente para Inglaterra. Después de un peregrinaje a Roma en 1579 regresó a Inglaterra en 1580, y fue encarcelado en el Poultry Counter el 12 de julio, de donde fue transferido a la Torre el 5 de diciembre. El 16 de diciembre fue terriblemente torturado, y tirado a un calabozo subterráneo. Fue traído al tribunal de justicia el 14 de noviembre, y condenado el 20 de noviembre.
